Accompanist

laurel headshot bwFor many years, Laurel’s career spanned teaching piano, organ and theoretical subjects on Faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, while she was a member of the Board of Examiners, adjudicated music festivals, and for a time was Administrator of the Toronto Kiwanis Music. As an accompanist, she has toured Canada and Britain with youth choirs.  As a church musician, she has held church posts in Toronto, Cobourg, Brockville and Hawkesbury. Recently, Laurel and her husband retired from a twenty year farming experience raising beef and horses and they now reside in Peterborough where Laurel freelances as a supply organist and accompanist, working with  the Jubilaries and  Bonachords, and the Kawartha Lakes Singers under the direction of Arlene Gray.  In this busy schedule she still finds the time for her wide variety of interests including:  gardening, kayaking, 2 cats, a cockapoo pup, 7 grandchildren, one husband!
